Equivalence of nodes
Hello!
I'm looking for some assistance on the following matter. Suppose I have two components - one thin (shell) and one thick (3D) which was created by draging 2D element over a certain distance. I want to glue those two components together using 2D area adhesive connector. Can the nodes on the interface of those two components be equivalenced? (they are by default). Shouldn't the nodes on the interface be separate for the stresses in glue connectors to be realiable? If so, is there any way to make them separate? Thank you very much in advance!

Yes, correct, they should not be equivalenced in this case,
You should use detach
Then in panel, 'detach from' the elems from one collector from the elems of the other

Thank you Paul! One more thing - if i have already applied adhesive connections between two components while they were equivalenced does that mean I have to redefine the connections after detaching?

Probably you should recreate them, I wouldn't have thought the adhesive creation would have worked correctly while they were equivalenced?

It suprisingly did. After detaching all needed elements (and not redefining the connections) everything still runs smoothly and the results have slightly changed (as expected).
Despite everything working at first glance I'll still do as you suggested. Just to be sure. Thanks again0
