Offseting a surface, creating a surface from the outside faces of a solid
Hello!
Is there a way to create a surface from the outside faces of a solid body? I've included two attachments. I have a solid body on which I would like to lay a surface - thus far I've only managed to extract the midsurface. Maybe there is a way to offset the newly created midsurface so it corresponds to the outside faces of the solid? Thank you in advance.

If you just want the bounding surfs, you can change selector to surfaces, select them and CTRL-C CTRL-V
e.g:
Does that do what you need?

Yes, that's exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you Paul. However, that still baffles me - is there truly no way to offset a surface in HM?

No, it is easy enough, You can offset surfaces with surface offset tool. But it won't work on faces of Solids, unless you separate the surfaces from the solid first. I'm not sure what your end goal is here, I thought you were asking about offset to get a midsurface back to the outside? But now you have the outside surface already why do you need the offset?, Are you trying to change the dimensions of an existing solid?
