How to set up front suspension with Kinematics and Compliance event ?
Hi,
I would like to set up the suspension for a truck model because the truck mass is very different from what the default mass values are. I saw on the forum that to do so, the best solution is to build half of the model (front/back) and use the Kinematics and Compliance event to set up the suspension. My problem is that I don't quite understand this stool and how it can help me set up my suspension system .
If somebody good guide me on how to use this tool it would be great.
Thank you !

Hello Angus,
As for the full truck model, default values/parameters can be changed through Entity Editor. From Body Entity Editor you could change the mass of container box / cargo, cab ect like shown belowBy using CG coordinates you can also change the location of the bodies and thus the weight distribution of front and rear axle.
KnC analysis is useful in order to fine tune parameters of your suspension geometry like spring rates, bump steer, camber gain ect. in a fully controlled environment. In vehicle events this would be much more difficult to do so.
We offer a complete eLearning on vehicle modeling which walks you through the whole procedure on how to simulate half or full vehicle models. You can check it here MotionSolve v2023 for Vehicle Modeling. Hope this helps!

Hi Orestes,
Thank you for your response, I will follow this tutorial course and see if it answers my questions. Do you have the same course for MotionView 2021 or 2022 ?
Best regards,
Angus.

Hi Angus,
unfortunately prior v2023 the course was instructor led so there are no video tutorials. You can use the 2023 eLearning as a guideline and maybe crosscheck with User Manual of Kinematic and Compliance.Hope this helps!
