Remove nodes from a node set with Hypermesh 2022.3
I was trying to remove nodes from an entity set but didn't see the "remove" option out there from the drop down button in Hypermesh 2022.3 (NastranMSC as User Profile). I did see the 3 options with "add". Was it an issue with this version of Hypermesh? Or I simply missed something? Thanks.

Hello Zane,
You can either remove nodes directly in the graphics (shift +lmb)
Or you can use the advanced selection > Remove option
Thanks

Thank you Jason!
The graphics option is not the best option because I want to use sets. It seems to me the Advanced Selection is only available in Hyperworks which has yet to work properly on my machine. I launch Hypermesh under Altair 2022.3 though. Per Hypermesh manual, the "Remove..." options should be there for me to select.

Select the set you want to use for removal an hit reject

Thanks Jason. Can you please show me more details (step by step) about how to get to this point? I've attached my HM2022.3 snap shot where the existing node set spc_nodes contains a bunch of nodes. After I clicked "formula", hoping to use "remove by ..." options and select the nodes from another node set for removal, I only had the 3 "add by..." options.

Is there a specific reason you are using the formula option? This is best used when you are not selecting specific entities but want to created clauses based on ranges or other such operations.
If you are just creating a set based on a selection of ids or sets, use the option I should you with select and reject.

The remove by option is only available in certain solver profiles, Radioss for example.
Here I have created a set that is basically a boolean operation of the other two sets.

I wanted to compare two node sets that are slightly different. I could export the sets to do it but thought it would be easier in HM. So I basically need to do Boolean operations in HM. Not sure why the "remove by" options didn't show up. Thanks!

Interesting! I believe it should also work with the Nastran interface, at least for the old HM versions.

It doesn't seem to be available in Nastran or Optistruct.
I do believe that is why this tool exists in the Aerospace profile

Oh boy! Your last reply triggered me to find what else is available within my HM. I don't have "Aerospace" but found Previous (Hypermesh) under Preferences - "remove by ..." showed up after switching. Thanks!
