Intersection of lines and surfaces

Hi everyone. I have a set of lines and surfaces (ids of both) and out of them I want to find out how many and which surfaces are intersected by each line. Any idea on how it may be done? I have tried creating nodes at intersection but there seems to be no way to find out surface id using an un-associated node.
