    Hi Sanyo,

The macro will export surfaces or boundary lines for each ply in the laminate in step format. you can use this to export the ply shapes.

Please tell me what you are simulating, what is your model about, type of analysis, also what exactly in this model you want to export in the igs format?

In Hypermesh any created geometry can be exported to several geometry formats using the file > export > geometry option.

    Sanyo,

You need to download the script and then run this script from the downloaded location by going to file > run tcl tk from within HyperMesh.

    see http://www.altairuniversity.com/support-forum/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=87

you will find this and other scripts in the altair script exchange, go to learning > script exchange from the altair university website or here http://www.altairhyperworks.com/Script-Exchange.aspx?%3ftop_nav_str=1

you will need to log in with your university mail id and login credentials you get after registering to the client centre.

search for the script by just entering ply in the keyword section.

once you have found the script click on the download button, once you have downloaded the script place it in a convenient location, then you need to do a file > run tcl tk from within HyperMesh. make sure you have a relevant model loaded in HyperMesh when you run the script.

    sanyo55,

You get the above error if you run the tcl script in HyperMesh loaded with a model that does not have any ply definitions. You must have plies in the model to export the ply shapes.

As you can see, I have the plies, so something else is wrong.

Ply definition or laminate definitions missing should throw the same error, otherwise this error does not appear on several models here, you can try downloading the macro and run it again. you can also try deleting the settings files (go to my documents and delete command.cmf, hmmenu.set and hmsettings.tcl) and try running the macro again. make sure the include folder is in the same location as the macro.

you can also create another file with just the ply, laminate, material and property definitions (delete everything else) and try running the macro. Can you try running the macro on any other model with ply and laminates and see if you get the same error?

Please provide your update and system information
    1. Please open a session of HyperMesh/HyperWorks Desktop and then go to Help > updates and system information
    2. Click on copy
    3. Please paste by right click > paste or ctrl + V and reply

I gave the same error message and try other modell too, delete the files from my documents (but I don't have hmsettings.tcl  just hwsettings.xml! It is important?).

    Do you have any idea?

You have no updates installed, this could be the problem.

We do not support 11.0 updates on the website anymore,

Perhaps you can upgrade to 12.0 and try,

Can't find this script on Script Exchange. Is there a (updated) version available somewhere?

    Thanks and best regards!

    Hi.

About the last comment, i can't find the new script that enable the exporting of plies. There is a new version of it? There's a different method to do the same thing?

    Thank You
