curvature 2-d meshing
hi,
can any one help me and say how to capture elements in this type of curvatures..I am working on this but the element is not exactly capturing the surface geometry features...please also put light on trias and quad role on this curvature and mapping too with quality meshing..curvature.hm if u want file is here and please reply soon with any else suggestion..
hi,
if I am increasing element density then it is failing in aspect ratio, min,max angle, checks..please also put some light on trias , quad and mapping in this region..or any other way in hyper mesh to capture this type of region.the checks
Quality Specs:
• Min Elem Size : 2mm, Avg Elem Size: 5 mm
• Aspect Ratio: < 4, Jacobina > 0.5
• Warpage Angle: < 15, Skew Angle: < 45
• Min tria Angle: > 25, Max tria Angle: < 135
what if i uses tria instead of quad in this curvature region and quad in the remaining region?in deviation which parameter has to check to capture this curvature region..or any other such suggestion is appreciable.

HI Syed,
You may do better by using the surface deviation option of Automesh,
See image below for the quad mesh and the parameters used for meshing the same surface, this mesh meets all your element quality criteria.
I suggest you go through - HyperWorks Desktop Applications > HyperMesh > HyperMesh Tutorials > Meshing > 2-D Elements:

respected admin,
will the scale factor at the beginning of importing matter in checks.thanks a lot,

Syed,
If you are talking about the scale factor, while importing geometry, This is useful when converting a model created in English units to Metric, for example.
The scale of your model should not affect the element quality checks (except perhaps length checks)
