Global feature angle ?!

Hi everyone,

thank you a lot for your advice so far icon_smile.gif

Now I've got another question about an error task during '3D cfd tetrameshing':
Starting the process for cfd 3d meshing (pushing the 'mesh'-button) you can see an error message in the left bottom of the HyperMesh CFD's GUI and it goes like this:

'The global feature angle (=30degs) seems to be small.'

During the pre-process of 2D surface meshing I tried to change the 'max feature angle' as you can see in the attached jpg! This changed nothing & the error-message still will be displayed!

Now I've got to admit that I don't even know what the 'global feature angle' is.
Can anybody help me, please? Where can I find this angle in the GUI and how can I change it. And maybe the more important question:
How does this angle affect the 3D tetramesh?

Thank You! icon_biggrin.gif

Press 'o' on your keyboard for options.

in options go to mesh and there you will see feature angle.

Feature angle is the tolerance between two adjacent surfaces. for example if you have two surfaces (say 1 and 2) and the angle between 1 and 2 is 60 and if you select entities by face, the entities on surface 1 are selected.

say if the angle is 20 (by default it is 30) and if you select entities by face on surface, the entities on both the surfaces are selected because the angle is within the tolerance.

    I hope this helps icon_smile.gif

    Thanks and regards
