Hi,
Is it possible to export component wise .BDF files, without any change in the global node numbers? Since, I am doing an modal analysis and optimization I need to modify the nodal co-ordinates of a particular component only (say i have 3 components, component 1, 2 are fixed and i need to modify the z co-ordinate values of all the nodes in component 3).
Is it possible? if yes, please explain me how to do! icon_eek.gif
Thank you!

You can export selected components from HyperMesh as .BDF files.

    1) when you are in export solver deck module, under export options toggle the field next to Export to custom.

    2) Click select entities and check the desired component under Export and unchecked remaining components and go back to export and click export.

    refer to the picture below:

Display just the component you want exported and while exporting, in the export options, choose 'displayed'

you can then modify the coordinates in a text editor, delete everything except the grid and element data and import to have just this modified component.
