Hi there,

in HyperView I want to show the prinicpal vectors. As layers you have the choice of Mid, Z1 and Z2. To which layers does this correspond to specifically. Or especially: what does here Mid mean.
In my case i have a composite consisting of 4 layers. Is Mid an average value across the 4 layers?

    Hi Tom,

Depending on the solver, these labels can correspond to either one of the upper and lower shells. For Radioss and Nastran solvers, Z1 would correspond to the lower side of the shells and Z2 would correspond to the upper side. This is relative to the direction of the element's normal.

In your case, the integration point in the middle of your layers would be the mid vector value.
