How to improve the element quality

Hello!

Thanks a lot for information, there are many helpful tools to improve the element quality. I was doing just with place nodes manually and smooth to improve it, but I learn how to use the other tools, some of them are easier to use.

Another tool that has been very helpful to improve the quality to me is spliting and combine elements, the result is kind that swap to edge but is easier to manipulate, I use them when place nodes manually is not enoough in some complex zones.

I am glad you were able to explore and self learn options like split and combine, keep it up ! 

tutorial : HM-3300: Checking and Editing Mesh
discusses most of the mesh checking and improving tools, step 9 discusses the edit element options of split and combine, you may also like to try the replace panel, I find this helps many times as well. remember to constantly switch on and off the geometry to make sure we are still capturing the geometry while element cleanup
