I made a model with composites and it went well untill the end of the optimization, now I wanted to add a rib to the model but the surfaces of my original model are gone, so now I cannot attach the ribs to my model so I cannot do an analysis. Can you help me with this problem?

    Hello,

there are ways to add geometry to an existing mesh within HyperMesh without the underlying geometry.
If your mesh is already aligned, you can easily add ribs by dragging existing nodes along a vector. See this video for further details:

If you want to add a rib and the underlying mesh does not match, you can remesh using the 'detect lines' (geometry) or 'detect features' (1D elements) function in the automesh menu. The steps to reproduce this are described in this video:

Before running the analysis you need to assign property and material to the newly created meshes of course.

    Kind Regards

In addition you might also use the 2D --> mesh edit --> extend function which is implemented in HyperWorks 12 to fulfil this task.
