hi,

i have a problem with using symmetry in hypermorph. My model consits of 3D Hex elems which i want to morph in the thickness direction (morph->move handles-> translate-> using elem normals).
I build up the symmetry by creating a system and select it in the symmetry 'sys' with the option '1 plane' and 'align with y-axis', also i selceted all domains and the size. (domains are on one side of the symmetric model).
When i use the option 'enforced' handles are created.

Back in the morph panel i checked the options and the symmetry is active. If I morph, the handles on the symmetric side are moving but not the elems.
I can provide the model if you like.

Thanks for your time!

    Hi,

Create 3d domains for entire model. maintain symmetry through edge domain for the model.
While defining symmetry make sure that all the domains are selected. As the model is symmetric about one plane, use one plane symmetry.
While Executing the morphing operation make sure that , in the options panel symmetry option is turned on.
Select half model domain , choose system & translate along y direction with some magnitude. Because of symmetry it will let other portion to translate in the same manner.

I hope this would help you.
