Hello,

firstly, congratulations for this great site and useful forum.

My question is about renumberinng, a so frequent and advisable task when you manage big models with a lot of includes. Moreover, in airframe meshing, it is usual to renumber following a specific direction or local axes (between ribs, stringers, etc) in order to ease the postprocesing of the analysis results.
I've been looking for this option in Hypermesh and I couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Jacobo

Perhaps these below are the scripts you are looking for, script 614 and 313 are more relevant.

    0u0u0-Capture.PNG

You need to download the script and then run this script from the downloaded location by going to file > run tcl tk from within HyperMesh.
    see http://www.altairuniversity.com/support-forum/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=87

you will find this and other scripts in the altair script exchange, go to learning > script exchange from the altair university website or here http://www.altairhyperworks.com/Script-Exchange.aspx?%3ftop_nav_str=1
you will need to log in with your university mail id and login credentials you get after registering to the client centre.

search for the script by just entering renumber in the keyword section.

once you have found the script click on the download button, once you have downloaded the script place it in a convenient location, then you need to do a file > run tcl tk from within HyperMesh. make sure you have a relevant model loaded in HyperMesh when you run the script.

Renumbering, in general is handled via the Tools page (Look to the Panels at the bottom and the radio-buttons off to the right). The far right column has 'Numbers' and then 'Renumber' at the top of this column.

If you need them based on location, then the previous answer should get you there. You can run macros from the 'File' pull-down.

Thank you Rahun and Paul for your fast answer.
Script 313 and 614 is exactly what I was looking for. Im gonna download them and check how they work.

I would like to check if Script 614 works with a local reference coordinate system assigned to nodes and what coordinates uses to renumbem elements (maybe element centroid coordinates).

    I'll give u feedback.

    BR,
