Hi Altair Engineer:
Is there a command or easier way to change a string “-1.2-16” to a number?
I found that the coordinate value for Grid written in .fem file dropped ‘e’ for exponential number. The value is supposed to be ‘-1.2e-16’, but now is ‘-1.2-16’. How can I get the value as a number?

Hi Chao,
Are you using HyperMesh to export the .fem file?
In that case you just need to uncheck the option ‘Remove E from real values’ in ‘Select Options’ from ‘Solver Options’ in the ‘Export’ tab.
