Hello all,

I did simulations on EDEM and generated .dem file.

Unfortunately my system gets logged off on its own. Now I am trying to open that file again. It is showing error -

ERROR : File IO : Could not open file F:/EDEM_runs/01_Binarymixtures/BN.efd.

ERROR : File IO : H5Fopen failed

Someone please guide. How Should I solve it.

Regards

Alok

    Hi Alok,

The .efd stores the field data for the simulation. My guess is that has become corrupt, somehow. The .efd file isn't needed to open an deck (you only need a .dem file and the _data folder with a 0.h5 in it), so if you delete or remove the .efd file from the folder then the deck should still open, albeit without the field data in it. If the simulation has run then this isn't might not be an issue, but if you still need to run the simulation then you would have to reload the file which held the field data afterwards.

    Cheers,

    Richard
