Changing mesh and geometry without deleting previous mesh

I created a 3D mesh of an intricate geometry and after I applied several RBE I realized I need to create a hole in the solid associated with that mesh. If I create the hole now, my whole mesh will disappear, including all the RBE connections. Is there a way to still change the mesh without deleting it? Thank you

You can copy (duplicate & move) your mesh to keep it.

I guess what I would personally try is to just create and attach a new mesh at the new geometry feature.

Set this setting to keep from deleting mesh of rest of your model.

I would also work only on 2d face elements and create tets again after. The face elements will keep nodal association to all other entities like rbe's and loads.
