Modelling rigid movement

I have two thick plates, one on top of the other. I modelling only the bottom one. When a load is applied, due to the presence of the top plate, the bottom will not be allowed to bend, but because the top plate is not in the FEM, it bends. How would I model the presence of the top plate without actually using it?

    Hi

Are you creating the model to run with OptiStruct or Radioss?

In Radioss you can mesh the top part, and associate a /RBODY element to it. With that the top part will be rigid.

Also need to add contact interaction so that the bottom plate (considering is the one you are loading ) will not pass thru.

    I hope this is helpful.
