Problem in using factory when a surface geometry import in the EDEM

I have a student lisence and in order to create a surface for my modeling, i have to import the STL file. but the factory item does not work and is not active.

Would you please guide me?

    Hi Neda,

    For EDEM factories you need:

    • Bulk Material created
    • Particle shape added to the bulk material
    • Geometry created
      • Physical geometry - has to be a Volume to allow factory to be created
      • Virtual geometry - this can be a surface or volume

    Geometry can be Physical or Virtual when it comes to factories:

    If the geometry is a Volume it can be Physical or Virtual, as we can create particles inside a Physical geometry or on a Virtual geometry.

    If the geometry is a Surface it has to be set as Virtual for the factory, as we can only create particles on the virtual surface.
