Is there any way I can use some other point of the object to measure distance?
If you connect proximity meter to point or some other point, the whole software crasses. Always.

If there is a crash occurring, you should send the model to the Altair customer support team with an explanation. Proximity in 2023 release is working well for me.
Make note that a Proximity will measure the closest distance between two parts at all times. It is not locked to two specific points. Instead, you can use a measure for that. A proximity will also change color according to conditions of - Clearance, Touching or Interference.
As a side note, Systems can be attached to any part at any point and allow you to plot the displacement of that point (System location).

Yeah, now I found that I can use measure and it shows x,y and z components also.
I could send all the crashes, but that would be a alot o work...because it crashes a lot or it only shows "contact to altair". But your right, they can make the program better if they know the crashes.
