Hello,

because the fatigue manual is not yet optimal and complete, I have questions about a few specific functions.

 

what is the meaning of:
event repeat:?
channel gate range?
channel offset?
Channel scale?


If I have a fully constant reversable bending load like this below due to a rotating shaft.

And I want to calculate the life. Do I have to fill in a value at event repeat or not ?

structural loadcases and multiple loadcase
Do I always have to create a structural loadcase first, before creating a multiple loadcase? Or can I immediately start with a multiple loadcase, without first creating a structural loadcase

Bellow my explanations:

event repeat: Number of time the cycle defined in the chanel panel will repeat to define one complete cycle (in your case it seems you don't need any repetition)
channel gate range: This option is used to isolate a specific range to be used as a cycle
channel offset: This option is used to offset in time the start of your Cycle
Channel scale: This is used to scale the amplitude of your cycle (change of units for instance)

As mentionned above, in your case it seems you don't need to set up any repetion because you alredy define the whole cycle.

 

For the multiple loadcases, you can do both. But you don't need to use a multiple loadcases to perform Fatigue Analysis.
