Hello,
I work with Motion View and am trying to parameterize the preload of a cars front suspension, the standard value is 7000. My question is which unit belongs to the 7000, since the preload is given in mm as far as I know. but that doesn't make sense at all. I hope someone can help me with this. Greetings, Kay

Preload is usually defined in force units. Alternatively you can enter free length as well. In the example you provided, 7000 is likely 7000 newtons, depending on the model units.
Because our help section is quite comprehensive, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate. However, it is also context-sensitive, meaning that simply hitting the F1 key when the Spring-Damper panel is active, brings up this very helpful article which explains what preload is, and how to define it:

Hope this helps.
