Optimization not working

Hi,

I was trying to run an optimization. I have a Design Space and multiple Non-Design-Spaces within and attached to the Design Space. Attached to the Non-Design Spaces I have forces and bearings. When I start the optimization via 'run', a pop-up appears that translates to something like 'Could not be Done. Contact support under www. ...'.

Before and with other models it has always worked. If I try with an old model it also works (those are quite similar to my current one). But the issue only exists with my newest design. But I cannot find anything I am doing wrong, so my questions are:

  1. What are requirements to be able to start the optimization
  2. What are 'No-Goes' / what should not be done to be able to run a optimization
  3. Are there any known reasons that cause this error?
  4. Do you have a suggestion on how to proceed with this?

 

Some of the things I have tried so far:

  • Exchanging parts from my old (working) model to my new (not working) model
  • Checked connection of bearings
  • moved bearings to different faces
  • moved forces to different faces
  • changed values of forces
  • Substitution of Non-Design-Spaces out of Design Spaces
  • Cut my model smaller to save needed computation power

    Besides checking these, you could take a look at the run folder if the .fem OptiStruct file was created and check the . out file in the same folder. It might tell you something.
