I am trying to fit the polynurbs model around the support so I can analyze it and not have any collisions. How can I do this?

This is a big topic! I'll stick to a couple of simple approaches.
The easiest method (especially if you are just at early concept validation stage) is to use the Fit PolyNURBS option in the shape explorer. Experiment with different parameters and see what you get...
If using a manual wrap you can wrap onto the non design geometry. Don't worry about the penetrations at this stage.
Once you have you final PN you can do a Boolean intersect with your original design space resulting in a PN that has surfaces matching your non design parts.
