Heal imported geometry
Hello,
I started simulating imported geometries, but I have understood that sometimes those imported archives need a geometry reconstruction.
In this case, next to creating a simple coil via external software, I imported it (STEP format) to flux. After that, I have defined an infinite box and checked the geometry.
Then, intersection errors started.
I don't know if I should use the 'Modeler Context', 'Context healing of facet geometry'... to solve this problems. I attached the flux file, but I would like to understand how to repair it and how to use these tools, for future problems.
Is there any document/pdf/example available?

Hi,
When I check your geometry I get that there is a Small air gap between the face 35 and face 7. For this reason when you do check geometry you get an error message. This air gap is wanted or is a builidng error?
Best regards.

Thanks for your answer Abdessamed.
That airgap is wanted.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. It is possible to modify the initial geometry by adding the small volume and import again the device (STEP fiel) in the modelr context.
Best regards.

Thanks again Abdessamed,
Do you recommend for your experience any other importing CAD format instead of STEP?
Is there any format that works best in Flux?

Thanks for your respone. The problem does not come from the type of the file (STEP, SAT…) but from the geometry. I saw that you have tried ao add a lines and points on the device but the problem still exist because you need realy to split the lines 8 and 6 (create points) and make connexion with the points 43, 44, 40 and 39.
Best regards.

I found it!
The problem lies in the distance between the 2 cables: The distance is smaller than the minimun relative precision that flux can distinguish.
So, if you write in Tools/Geometry & Mesh Options/Edit/Relative... a smaller value, the problem will solve.

Hello once again, (Abdessamed)
In order not to open another topic, I've got another question related with imported geometries.
I´ve drawn a 13 turn coil with the same plate section, corrected the geometry, meshed with the aided relaxation... and solved CORRECTLY.
Next to all this, I wanted to get a better results so I've meshed the coil (by line mesh), and when solving an error ocurred:
Here is the file:
Thanks lot

Solved!
I've got some hypotheses... but if someone knows the reason of the error, it would be so great knowing it.

Hi,
I reached to mesh and solve your device by making change on the mesh. I assign mesh point type medium to the point of the volume 2.
You will find attached the Flux project.
Best regards.

Thank you Abdessamed!
And what's the reason of this error, and why does solve it with this change?

Hi,
In your case we can’t solve the project because there is a mesh problem in the volume 2 as displayed:
Advancing front mesh on volume 2 failed. check the face mesh
For this reason I change the mesh point of the volume 2.
Best regards.

how to change this mesh point in flux 3D if any particular volume's advancing front mesh is failed please elaborate
