How do we mesh a component on the surface but the mesh has to be in the mid of the surface without extracting the mid surface and the tools to be used are only from the 2d panel and no usage of special tools like midmesh, midsurfacemesh .
it is not so easy, but you could try meshing the outer surface using 2d mesh, and later on, use the '2d> elem offset' and offset your mesh to the midline.
But t would be good to describe why can't you use these other tools...
