Is it possible to specify inlet an inlet condition in HyperWorks CFD as a function of space?

Hi Altair team!

When simulating flow past a square cylinder it could be useful to simulate the inflow velocity with both turbulence intensity as well as some boundary layer function to represent the incoming velocity profile. This allows us to reduce distance in front of the bluff body due to the developed boundary layer being estimated from the beginning.

I am aware that this function exists in HyperWorks, but am curious to know if this is a possibility in HyperWorks CFD as well.

The short answer is yes. You would use a nodal boundary condition. This option is available in advanced boundary conditions.
