How to split a U shaped surface at peak
Hi
I have a surface which is U shaped which I would like to split at its peak or close to it peak to increase the mesh quality. I have tried the washer split but due to the nature of the surface the split is not placed on the to of the peak the entire way as well as not going from edge to edge. I also have several of these shapes which are not quite the same so I can't make one line manually and copy it to all of them.
I am using Hypermesh

The interactive split is actually on option in the new interface which might work well for you. The new interface may have better options for sketching a line that you can then use to split it also.
Besides that you may be able to get what you want with several node to node splits. Once you get one you should be able to copy that line to use for others.
Is the ridge on a plane? If so you could split by plane right at the ridge.
Can you share the model or part of the model?

Have you tried the interactive split option?

Do you mean something like split between two nodes that I pick off the screen?
In that case yes, but since the surface is curved and not as tall on the back and front end, the split does not follow the ridge of the U-shape. Which is what I am after.

Ok, thank you for telling me.
I took a look at the Interactive split options and it is a lot better than the tools I have found so foar. It is good enough for what I want to do.
Thank you for your help
