I am a new user of Altair Inspire. I am interested in going back to basics and demonstrating how to solve simple problems by analysing simple structures and determining the Reaction forces on structural components from a case study perspective.

I don't know if Inspire is the right tool for this. the ultimate aim is to analyze complex mechanical structures including springs dampers etc. and not a simple fixed frame as provided in the attached example.

Attached is a snapshot of the problem and the Altair Inspire model.

I look forward to your reply.

    Hi Ahmed,

Thank you for your interest in Altair Inspire. Yes it is very possible to add springs/dampers/joints/motors/actuators/etc in Inspire. You can access all of this in Inspire Motion (the next option after Structures).

You can access free training here: https://learn.altair.com/course/view.php?id=656
