Dear Knowledge Works Customers,
I am the founder, Chairman and CEO of Altair (NASDAQ: ALTR), a global software company focused on simulation, data intelligence and high-performance computing.
As you may know, Altair acquired Datawatch in December of 2018. Altair is a technical company which is highly focused on customer support and success. I am writing to communicate my commitment to listen to and be responsive to Datawatch (now Altair) customers, like you, to invest in the products you care about, to provide outstanding technical customer support, and to hopefully surprise you with new innovations and opportunities to improve your business and processes.
Altair built our business on providing powerful tools at value, supported by a global team of highly skilled engineers, scientists and strategists. We are excited to extend this philosophy and practice into your business.
We are a product- and technology-driven company, which focuses on product vision, development, and technology acquisitions. Our team of software developers is well over 1,000 strong and we intend to leverage the full weight of Altair's many decades of commercial software development expertise and experience to compete with anyone in the market.
Our product roadmap for our data intelligence portfolio includes a much tighter integration of data preparation, data science, and automation deployment, but with a strongly open philosophy to be able to ingest data from anywhere and export to other solutions. We believe customers need tools that can integrate into their environments where they can choose what they feel are best-of-breed products and expect them to work well together. We also plan to support both desktop solutions and cloud offerings in a seamless and powerful way, including the ability to leverage high-performance computing both on-premises and in the cloud.
Altair brings our products to market with an innovative business model, which provides access to our entire suite on a concurrent basis. We will continue to offer Datawatch products under both the historical pricing and business model, and optionally under the Altair model. As you begin to engage with us more, I believe you will find we provide value and service like no one else in the industry.
Altair is a global company, with 81 offices in 25 countries and revenues coming almost equally from the Americas, EMEA and APAC. We are a healthy company financially, growing our software business quickly but with stability. We are growing the footprint of our data intelligence sales and support organizations to offer customers expanded services to match their global scale.
We will continue to invest in the markets where Datawatch was traditionally strong including banking, financial services, capital markets, health care and retail. We believe our ability to more quickly develop product and deploy it globally will prove to be of great advantage to you.
Our vision is to transform product and business decision-making by applying simulation, data intelligence and optimization. That's the main reason Altair acquired Datawatch in December 2018. We have uniquely positioned Altair to offer end-to-end integration of your data ecosystem to help you operate in the coming highly connected world in which data and digital twins will be central to all decision making.
We are truly excited at the work being done and believe our ability to increase R&D and technical support will greatly accelerate the depth, breadth, and delivery pace of improved and forward-looking software products for you to meet your digitalization requirements.
The future growth of your business depends on data; how to prepare, predict, visualize and analyze it. Altair is positioned to lead the way.
I appreciate your business and look forward to a data-driven future. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would find a personal discussion useful.
Sincerely,
James R. Scapa
