16 Elements Phased Array Behaivour

Hello

I have constructed 16 elements C-Band phased array. Attached its design.

The design for all 16 elements is the same.

For some reason when I steer the array to some direction (attached POSTFEKO file for example), the VSWR results for each elements are different and vary too much, as can be observed.

What can be the reason for VSWR results difference between the elements.

Hello, 

Please know that SWR is a right term than VSWR because waveguide sources are applied.

SWR is given by the ratio between reflected power and incident power at the waveguide ports.

Therefore, some ports' reflected power can be much larger or smaller than the others due to the neighboring ports' excitation conditions (amplitude or phase values.)

To remove the effects of the excitation conditions on the SWR, it is better to check the S parameters.

The simulation results from the original Feko (cfx) file show the following reasonable S parameter values.
