Hello,
I am having this error when running a modal analysis
*** ERROR # 2985 ***
Dependent DOF 1 of GRID 1035 cannot be converted to an
independent DOF with AUTOMSET for this rigid configuration.
There are not enough constraint equations to reformulate it.
If RBODY is used in the model, it is getting overconstraint in the model.
By adding "DEBUG,REMOVRGD,1.", Optistruct would not create constraint
on the dependend node of RBODY.

*** Run terminated because of error(s) in the input data.

I would like to know how resolve it, but I do not know the way to add "DEBUG,REMOVRGD,1." that it is suggesting
Is there there a specific way to do so ?

Thanks

In HyperMesh (HM) Debug is represented as a card.  So if you create card you should find debug in the list of available cards.

However it is best practice to fix the modeling that is causing this rather then using the debug card.  Along those lines it sounds like Grid 1035 is over constrained. This could be caused by multiple rigid elements or equations or constraints all on the same point.  I would find this point and review all the connections to see if you can resolve this without using the debug card.

    Hello Ben, Thanks for answering
The fact is that I don't have any rigid body element connected to that GRID, nevertheless I imposed this card but this is still not working ! all the imposed RBE are similar to what I have in the real assembly

You have a constraint (SPC) attached to your rigid element.  That is what is causing the issue.

    Hi Ben,

Please, how was this problem solved eventually.

I know, I created a SPC from the Rbe3 elements that I created.

I am having the exact same issues.

    Please, help..

I need a solution for my project as soon as possible.

    Thanks

    Hi Gboyeg,

In the model attached by Ali, I removed the SPCs connected to dependent nodes of RBE2 and after that the model runs without any issue.

Please check this point in your model and correct it.

The issue is with grid 737002, so find out if any SPC is attached to this.

    Thanks
