EDEM Cone Penetrometer force output 100x Less than expected

I am currently trying to verify an EDEM simulation of a cone penetrometer.

The value for the total force on my cone penetrometer geometry is around 100x lower than I would expect having verified the data with multiple readings from a real cone penetrometer on different soils.

I have run many simulations and changed particle properties but always appear to be a consistent way out from where I would expect.

are you using any particle scaling in your model? scaling might affect the resistance from the sample.
