Export PDF in DPS/Automator

Hello friends, 

We were asked to take a PDF file, remove client specific info and export back as PDF. To our surprise, we didnt find PDF as one of the export options in DPS. Are we missing something obvious? The final plan was to use Automator to run this process on schedule. If DPS doesn't allow PDF export, can Automator come to the rescue?

    Hi Leonid,
    Do you have Monarch Classic?  Classic has the ability to export to PDF from any Window.   You can print the table/Summary with redacted fields or 'RePrint' the report window.  Of course, you will lose the original PDF formatting and Graphics.

    Yes, we do have Monarch Classic, but since we started using Monarch only a few months ago and don't have any models developed in Classic, I thought the Altair roadmap was to use DPS/Automator going forward as Classic is considered a legacy application and could become end-of-life at some point in the future. Was my understanding incorrect and two products will coexist?

    Hi Leonid,
    If there is no PDF export in DPS, then there is no PDF export in Automator.
    If Monarch Classic an option, then Classic can export report, table and summary to a PDF file. 
    You can also use the Automator Standard process and automate it. 

    If Monarch classic is not an option then you may export a DSP table to an Excel file and then use Excel tool and save it as PDF.

    I'm not aware of any plans to make Monarch Classic 'End of Life'.  
    It is true to say that many features that were previously only found in Classic have been migrated into Data Prep Studio, but Classic continues to be maintained, developed and supported.

    For consistency, I will generally use Data Prep Studio unless there is a specific reason to use Classic; but I'm not nervous about the longevity of Monarch Classic models.
