What is the reason behind the disabled symmetry option in FDTD?
Hi
I want to run an antenna model using FDTD in order to compare results with time domain solver in another s/w. For Feko FDTD solver, the memory requirements are high and the speed is very low. Why is the symmetry option disabled in Feko? Is there an alternative to speed up the simulation?
Thanks & regards

Hi Vishakha,
Development team is working on the symmetry option for FDTD. We can expect this feature in the upcoming versions.
MoM, FEM solvers support the symmetry option to improve the memory and run times. If you would like to share the model with us or atleast mention about the specifications of the antenna, we can review and provide you the best possible solution for this antenna problem.
I am attaching the patch antenna example solved using MoM and FEM solvers using symmetry option. Please go through the attachments.
Thanks!

Raja. Thanks a lot for you reply. The patch antenna models are useful. It would be really helpful if you could suggest a suitable solution method for our antenna. Can I get your email id for this purpose?
Thanks & regards

Hi
I simulated the antenna model using FEM solver. But it didn't run till the end and stopped with error
33502: Internal Feko error .
Please let me know the email id where I can send the antenna model without compromising the confidentiality.
Thanks and regards
