Is it possible to run EDEM on a system without GUI?
Hello every body,
I want to use cluster for coupling Fluent and EDEM. The cluster works without GUI. In Fluent we use Fluent Text User Interface (TUI). I want to ask, is there any TUI available for EDEM? I mean is it possible to use EDEM in these type of clusters?

Fatemeh

It's possible to run EDEM without a GUI through the Command Line Interface (CLI): if you open the terminal window typing the command "edem -c -h" should list all the options possible for EDEM.
Although you can run without the GUI, that does not mean it will run on your "cluster" as that will depend on the architecture of the cluster (i.e. is it shared or distributed memory, for example).

Hi Fatemeh,
It is possible to run edem from the command prompt. Check out this tutorial to learn more about it:

Thanks for your response.
Is it possible to explain me a bit more about the feature of the cluster that are needed for EDEM software? Such as shared or distributed memory that you mentioned in your answer.
