Control Card value on Thermal Analysis
Hi there,
I'm doing a thermal analysis using OptiStruct. I have 32 constrained nodes that require a diferent temperature value. However this value comes from a linear interpolation between the two end nodes (one has a 0ºC temperature and the other 4,5ºC temperature). Is there any way I can use a linear function for the nodes in Card Edit?

Hello,
Try to use the following way:
- Create the load on start and end of line (see picture 1)
- Switch to 'nodes' as target type
- Switch to 'linear interpolation' for type of load (default is constant value)
- Select the nodes between start and end for 'nodes' (e.g. by path)
- Select the start and end load for 'loads'
- Press create, a linear interpolation is done and loads are created (see picture 2)
Best Regards,
Mario

My question is: If I use the temperature instead of the SPC does the solver outputs the same results?
Thanks for the help!

Hi @RodrigoFST
Sorry for a late reply, do you mean using temp as load type in same steady-state heat transfer analysis type?

You'll get different results.
