Include IDs
Hi all,
Is there any command or workaround to renumber the Include ID?
I'm currently not able to change the ID number of each include.
Thanks

I don't know a way to change it, but I hadn't even noticed it before! It has no real meaning in the model, the ID is HyperWorks internal only and isn't used on export

Hi,
many thanks for your answer.
The problem is that I'm currently working on a model involving several include files and I need to manage and to order these includes. The only way I found to order them is by using ID but I didin't find a way to change the ID number.
Thanks

Are you talking about organizing them in HW? What about organizing them by name?

Yes, as Ben says, I normally just identify the includes by name, you can sort them alphabetically

Hi all,
Unfortunately, I can't rename the includes, the name are fixed.
In the past, I found a solution renumbering the include by editing the name and adding numbers at the beginning of them. This time, i can't use this workaround.
I thnk it is quite strange that include id renumbering is impossible. I'm wondering what is Include id for.
Thanks

So far as I can tell, the IDs are reflecting the order of the includes in the incoming solver file, i.e. first listed is ID 1, second ID 2 etc. If I change the order of the include statements in an incoming solver file then the IDs on import change to match, and the order on import is reflected on export, so if you can change the order to be what you want in your solver file this should be preserved and reflected in the ID order in HM.
