I need an example of the Displacement constraint

Hi Guys, Can anyone send me a real example of how to use displacement constraint, I can easily use the displacement itself, but when I want to constraint my part from moving or displacing in the Analyse ( not optimization), I can not make it work. For example, I am trying to model a very simple snap clip that moves shorter than its engagement and I want to restrict its movement with displacement constraint, but it does not work, Please check the below Image.

My main purpose is to model a simple snap-fit in Inspire, but I didn't have any luck with it yet.

I need to find how to model the friction in the analyse ( not motion), which I could not do it yet.

    hi,

this 'displacement constraint' is targeted for optimizaiton studies only, where you can limit the displacement for an optimized part.

I believe you will need to go to HyperMesh and OptiStruct to get what you want.

For these studies you will need Large Displacement, Finite Sliding contact, and add a stopper to your model. As far as I know Inspire doesn't allow you to use all of these.

Thanks mate, Saved me to spend more time on something that was not designed for this purpose.I am not very familiar with Hyper mesh , and just started with Inspire as doing mainly concept design, but still will try to give it a go on some very simple optimisation example to see how the constraint will work, and let you know if there is any other question. thanks a lot for support.
