How to get Contour Output Values to display on top of Elements?

I am hoping that HV has capability to overlay values of chosen output vector on top of Elements for 2D as well as 1D meshes (probably 3D too...). I searched for it in HV, but could not find it.

With Nodal vector, you can do. But I don't know how to plot with element scalar.

^^Vector plot does not support Stress outputs AFAIK. Yeah, I would prefer elemental scalar overlay...find it quite useful when reviewing beam results.

    Hello,

    Try this:

    • Go to the Measure panel
    • Create a Measure group
    • Select 'Elemental Contour' for element results
    • Select 'Multi Select'
    • Select 'Elements' and select your elements in the dialog window
    • In the shown example I have selected all elements with a value >120
    • Press add, and 'Add Items'
    • Switch off ID, System... what you want...

    Best Regards,

    Mario

PS: Your example looks like Femap!?

^^Thanks for your reply Mario. Good to know that HV has such capability even though the process is a little tedious.

Yes, the screen shot in my first post is from Femap :)
