Hi,

i want to cappede the particle between the simulation. i tried the bonding V2model and input all the parameters and make  some adjustments of the parameters, but it seems that it didnt work. When i search the webblog, i found that the previous versions of edem had the capped function between simulation. So i was wondering how to capped the particle between simulation. The first pic was the edem2022 ,the other is the blog screenshot.

Much thanks in advance.

    Hi Chao,

The particle limit option is still in the latest version.  Under Creator Physics > Particle Limits you should find it there.

Just to note if you are using the bonded particle model it is often required to run at a lower time-step.  Typically a 'standard' simulation will run at 20% Rayleigh time-step however this is only a good guide for dry granular material, with bonds we need to take into account the bond element which often requires a lower time-step for stability.  So if you are seeing stability issues with  the bonding v2 model I'd reccomend looking at running lower time-steps.

    Hi,Stephen

i search the options of particle limits, there was no ''capped'' options to choose. And in the simulation i setting the lower time-step with 1.5%. Is it true that the version of 2022 removed the function of "capped"?

    Much thanks

    Hi Chao,

The cap for the velocity applies if you set the limit.  For example if you specify limit velocity and 'limit' of 2 m/s this is the same as setting a cap of 2 m/s.
