Estimation Saturation by plotting Torque versus Current

Hi everyone,

i'm using Flux 2D to design a high torque motor. The current is high and somewhen there is a saturation (especially at overload). The torque and the current will not proportional to others.

I want to draw this torque-current curve. But i dont know, if it's enough when i calculate it with magneto static (at one position) or should i calculate it with transient Calculation?

Thank you in advance!!

Best regards

Nguyen

    Hello Nguyen;

    You can plot the static torque for several current supply, and so you will have a 3D curve of the the torque versus position and versus current. You can extract from this curve the maximum torque versus current supply.

    However, using this method, you will not see the impact of spatial harmonics, so from my point of view, it is better to make a transient computation and extract the mean value of the torque for each current value for a given speed.

    Thanks a lot Farid!!
