Unable to move or rotate model when create the contact surface as well as unable to duplicate contact pairs when duplicate contact components ver HyperMesh2017

Hello

Since version HM2017( including 2019, 2020), the model is unable to be moved or rotated through any way during creating contact surface. I have to exit the panel of creating contact surface to change the position and orientation of model. However the model position and orientation can changed randomly when create contact surface. This defect is quite not benefit when create contact surface.

Besides, It become unable to duplicate contact surfaces when duplicate components between which contact surfaces had been created since version HM2017. The contact surfaces will be copied accordingly When duplicate the components elements among which contact surface had been created. The function is quite good when there are lots of same components among which contact need to be created. I get no idea why it miss since Version2017 or there are some better ways to replace it.

This is strange Tony.

It looks like a graphic issue. Is your gaphic card's driver updated? Can you check? If not, can you update it and try it again?

Also, make sure you delete some of the temp files in Documents folder (command.tcl, hmmenu.set, .altair folder) and try it again. Sometimes these files get too big and need to be deleted (with HM closed).

If any of these can't solve your issue, I would also recoomend you to look after your Altair local support and show them your issue.

As for the first issue of being unable to operate other functions when create contact surface, the integrated conditions are as following picture.

As regards the second issue, it can be described like followings: Let us suppose that one contact pair named C01 between component A and B has been created. If I make several copies, for example five copies, about the elements that belong to component A and B, then the contact surfaces attached to previous elements in version HM2014 will be duplicated accordingly which means contact pair C01 will automatically contain the five copied contact surfaces. However, since HM2017, the contact surface will not be duplicated with the coping of elements on which contact surface has been created previously.

This two issues come up to every computers that install the HM2017 in my company. And so do both HM2019 and HM2020. Just like you say they may come from the software license setting if other customers did not run into these issues.
