AcuSolve - EDEM coupling: theory of porosity calculation

Hope you are well. I am familiar with Edem-Fluent coupling, but not sure on AcuSolve-EDEM coupling. I have several questions:
1) For the coupling, which method is used to calculate the porosity in a mesh cell for AcuSolve-EDEM coupling?
2) And could the mesh cell size be smaller than the particle size (with a wide size distribution) for AcuSolve-EDEM coupling?
3) Is there any theory document for AcuSolve-EDEM coupling?

Hi Melin,
For the porosity it's based on the particle position (centre point) and the mesh cell that this particle is in. There is then a multi-stage smoothing which is used to calculate the porosity, especially important when the particle size is larger than the mesh cell size.
