Number of segments in a NLFE Beam

Hi,

I'd like to understand the meaning of the number of segments we need to specify when we create a NLFE body.

I don't understand if the number of segments are useful just for output visualization or for calculation too.

I made a comparison between a nlfe beam with 1, 1, 1 (number of segments along x, y, z) and a beam with 7, 7, 4 segments (check the pdf uploaded).

So my question is: increasing the segments is the same thing than a finer mesh? Does it mean a greater discretiazion and so it leads to more accurate results?

In this example I can notice a difference of 10 MPA in maximum Stress (xx).

Hi Davide - the number of segments that you see in the MotionView panel is for visualization and interpolation of results. It does not participate in the solution.
