I am simulating microstrip patch antenna at 50GHz and feko seems take too long to simulate, at certain times, it aborts after 80% completion. What can I do to make the simulation run faster? Any parametric study that I want to do is hindered as a result.

    Hello Niharika,

Please change the material property of the ground plane in your model with conductive metal or PEC and the radiator, too...

Then you will have a quick result.

    Hi Niharika,

Just to explain this further: There are no metallic surfaces in your model because they have become dielectric during the union operation. You should therefore before Union always clearly assign a material to surfaces instead of leaving them at "default":

In addition, your model is much too small for MLFMM. MLFMM makes sense if a model is at least 4 wavelengths in size.

The model with changes is attached.

You may also think about using an infinite substrate layer. This will reduce runtime and memory a lot. You can still validate the optimum result at the end.

    Also this model is attached.

Do you really need to calculate the farfield for each of the 101 frequencies? Maybe you want to have one configuration with frequency range and one for a single (resonance) frequency with far field request?

    Best regards,
    Torben
