Is there a way to open vtk files in hyperview?

In HyperView Student Edition, only H3D files can be opened.
In HyperView Full Version. around 50 different files can be opened, but not VTK yet.
I don't think the actual release of Hyperview can support VTK format. But you can always do some programming to read VTK and write to HWASCII which is readable by Hyperview
