Hello,

I wanna create sectionview for CAD assembly but do not know how to do in HM.

I often use Post page > hidden line to view section of FE model assembly. That is good feature in HM12

Could you share with me how to view section of CAD as well?

Many thanks.

One way is the intersect option (this panel needs to be added from the build plots panel)
this will create a line defining the cross section where the surfaces and the necessary defined plane intersect.

Hi Rahul. Thank you very much for your solution but I am not clear what you explanation. Could you explain in more detail? Base on my understand, you just to creat section lines but it does not cut and remove a half of CAD model.

Now I always have to import to HyperView to check and take much time.

    alpha,

Yes, it will create lines that depict the cross section, if necessary you can then trim with these lines to get a section view,

Alternatively you can Solid edit using trim with surfs/plane. Then mask other surfaces to visualize,

Another work around is to import into ST inspire and then do a section cut there to see the section view,

    Hello,

another suggestion: export the geometry to h3d and load it with Hyperview, here you can create section cuts... it's a missing feature in Hypermesh.

    Best regards,
