Detail difference b/w Global , element , analy and user system in VonMise strain contour

Hello,

 

In contour VonMise(or XX, YY, etc) strain, I do not really understand detail difference b/w 'Resolved in' Element v.s Analysis system. Which one we should use match with strain gauge test more accurate?  We often have to create User system along with Strain Gage direction to achieve more precise.

 

To achieve more accurate result on Strain Gauge measurement, we often base on strain gradient? Really appreciate anyone can recommend how to find the strain gradient.

    If you are using Optistruct as a solver then you try below option:

     

    STRAIN(SGAGE) = ALL

    You need to look at nodal strains ( Averaging method ON) with this options in HV.

     

    If this is not working as desired, you may need to create a local system in HV and transform the tensors wrt strain guage direction.
