Error message: Flux2D: soft run abort.
When I try using flux for the first time after installation, by either starting a new project or opening an existing project file, I get the following error message and nothing else happens:
Flux2D: soft run abort
C:\Program Files\Altair\2018-edu\flux\Flux'Bin\dll\win64\flux_project.dll: The specified procedure could not be found
I am using Flux Student Edition 2018, and have tried reinstalling the program and that hasn't helped.

Can you check on the folder:
C:\Program Files\Altair\2018-edu\flux\Flux'Bin\dll\win64\flux_project.dll if you have the dll: flux_proejct.dll

i get a similar message:

I do have the file flux_project.dll in the location mentioned.0 -

Can you try to Install the latest version (Flux 2020).

i recieved an email from Altair with my licence file and a download link for the 2018 version.
Will my licence work for the 2020 version?

I filled out that form already.
Then i recieved an email that my request was approved.In that email was a link to download flux and it was the 2018 version, and also there my licence was attached.
Is there any other method of communication in which we can have a continuous conversation? i have t refresh this page to know if you replied as it does not even email me a notification....

I only have one version, it is the 2018 edu. i downloaded it from the email i received from Altair after filling out the form.
For me to install the 2020 version i need a download link for that..0 -

The file exists and is in the correct location.
The download link I received after requesting the student edition is for Flux 2018, I do not have any option to download the 2020 version.0 -

I have this exact same issue. The directory where the version is installed does not have any spaces. So I don't think thats the issue.
I am installing FLUX 2018 version as most of my past files are in 2018 version as FLUX does not support backward compatibility.
I tried installing the software multiple times but this error doesn't go away. I am using windows 7 OS.

Installed 2020.1. Unfortunately, the software did not even open. It looks as if its not advisable to have both 2018 and 2020 installed at the same time. Please advise.

Hi,
In principle you can install both versions without any problem. Can you try to install the version in different folder (for example for flux 2020.1 in C and flux 2018 in D).

Hi Abdessamed, Thanks for the response. I figured out that part by uninstalling 2020.1 and 2018 and re-installing 2020.1 and 2018 in that specific order. Now both software open. But The main problem 'Soft Run Abort' remains. Could you please comment on that as well?
These are the case numbers I raised for this Soft Run Abort issue CS0153758 & CS0150481. The case files have figures attached also. Please review them and advise a solution.

While you are at it, if its not too much to ask, may I request you to please review another ticket I created ID CS0153757. The license activation does not work on 2020.1.
